Our work with WVPT involved helping the station identify community priorities and new ways to work with and in its community. This involved identifying the right participants, not only donors and viewers but constituents who understand the community, bringing the group together and asking the right questions to uncover the answers and move beyond rote replies. We worked with the station to distill the information so WVPT’s CEO and board can make strategic decisions that will better position it within the community and help it establish significant partnerships with other nonprofits and investments from high-capacity donors.
Boise State Public Radio embarked on a $2 million capital campaign to develop new studios and office space. The project is still in process and will be completed this year.
MajorGiving conducted a feasibility study and provided an action plan for the station. In addition, Boise State Public Radio has been a long-time client, utilizing major giving consulting services and coaching.
Our work with the Pacific Crest Trail Association has been multi-faceted:
We first worked with them to enhance their club giving program, the Trail Guardians and have helped them create a $10,000 annual giving program, along with a board giving program. Other activities with them have included board development, major gift coaching for specific donors, as well as data screening and analysis.
In 2012 we were asked to assist them in overhauling their membership program. Build upon an older model of direct mail saturation, PCTA's annual membership program had been experiencing a steady decline in revenue and escalating costs. Following a donor-centered approach, we developed strategies and materials that have greatly reduced costs, increased net revenue, while building lasting communication bridges to the community of donors who love the PCT and are deeply committed to its preservation.
The National Marine Sanctuary Foundation is the nonprofit arm of the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration's National Marine Sanctuaries. As most of the Foundation's funding comes from the Federal Government and other foundations, they are in the process of developing a more integrated fundraising program. MajorGiving assisted them in a 2012 end-of-year campaign and is now working with them on an assessment that will lead to a comprehensive development plan.
